The Cancer Waltz is a book of poems written about my journey through the world of cancer. No matter where the cancer is located or the stage it is in, I believe all people feel basically the same when they are first told they have the disease. From that point on, each deals with it in their own unique way.
My husband encouraged me to write after I was diagnosed. Writing The Cancer Waltz became a way for me to release some of the fear, anger, and sadness that is associated cancer. It was my hope that someday the poems would be published so that they could maybe help someone else dancing the Waltz. That someday came much sooner than I anticipated as our daughter had The Cancer Waltz published.
For all of you who dance this Waltz with me, my wish is that you meet each morning with a little laughter and a great deal of courage. May God hold you close and give you peace all the while you dance!
